Responsibilities:
- Innovative Conceptualization:
- Generate creative and groundbreaking ideas for entirely new products based on market research, user needs, and emerging trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to brainstorm and develop unique product concepts.
- Design and Prototyping:
- Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks) to create detailed 3D models and prototypes of new product designs.
- Iterate on prototypes based on testing and feedback, ensuring the final design meets or exceeds performance expectations.
- Technology Integration:
- Stay abreast of cutting-edge technologies and incorporate them into the design process to enhance product features and capabilities.
- Collaborate with technology specialists to integrate advanced components and systems into the new product.
- User-Centered Design:
- Conduct user research and feedback sessions to understand user preferences and incorporate them into the product design.
- Prioritize user experience and usability in the development of new products.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with industrial designers, electrical engineers, and other specialists to integrate various aspects of design into a cohesive and functional product.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure the feasibility and efficiency of production processes.
- Rapid Prototyping and Testing:
- Develop rapid prototypes for quick validation of design concepts and functionality.
- Conduct testing and analysis to ensure the new product meets performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Market Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities and gaps, ensuring that new products align with market needs and demands.
- Analyze competitor products to identify areas for differentiation and innovation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience in the development of entirely new products, demonstrating a strong portfolio of successful projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks) and other relevant design tools.
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes (CNC/VMC machining, injection molding, forging, surface treatment processes, etc.) and material configuration.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing design tolerances & inspection methodologies.
- Working experience in APQP & PPAP documentation.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in relevant industries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Work experience with automotive (Tier1/2) companies will be an added advantage.
